Wood Waste extraction system

Twin Bin Extraction System for Wood Waste Extraction

Wood Waste extraction system to small joinery work shop

A Loudspeaker manufacturer contacted Ducting Express to quote for the supply & install of a dust extraction system to remove wood waste created by various wood working machines within their workshop.

Wood dust can cause serious health problems for workers. Employers are required to protect workers from the hazards of wood dust under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH).

Following the initial enquiry our woodwork dust control design engineer visited the customers’ site to meet with their operations director and discuss their requirements.

We then proposed to supply & install a wood dust extraction system which would consist of; a new ATEX compliant DE50M dust extraction filter with two 82 litre waste collection bins with bin balance, this would allow the customer to use plastic bags within the bins. As agreed during the site visit, the dust extractor would be positioned externally, outside of the workshop.

From the dust extractor, galvanised steel woodworking dust extraction ducting would be installed. This would pass through the external wall and then run at high level internally connecting to a CNC machine, a downdraft bench, a table saw extraction point & 3 connections to various points on a sanding table for extraction of wood dust created by hand tools.

Once the proposed woodworking dust extractors had been agreed between the customer and our design engineer we then arrange a date for the installation.

Installing the Wood Dust Extraction System

The wood dust extraction system was fitted by our skilled installation engineers. On completion we carried out a full LEV inspection of the system and issued the customer with reports for their Health and Safety records.
