Sawdust & Hay Extraction System - Pets at Home
We were asked by the customer, Pets at Home, to design a wood dust extraction system to separate sawdust and hay from most other objects. The goal here was to reduce the disposal costs of the client, to maximise safety & to minimise the labour input.
In the system pictured below, the products are sucked from a twin vibratory feeder, allowing a powerful fan to blow this directly into a 14-metre road wagon. The conveying air is sucked out of the wagon and filtered in a continuously rated filter. This enalbes the wagon to be driven away when full & replaced & saves the labour cost of filling the wagon.
Dust Extraction
Dust is vacuumed directly out of the filter and is blown back into the road wagon. The system has been designed to handle up to two tons per hour. This met the needs of the client & provided scope for future expansion when the time came.
Since the installation has been completed the disposal costs have been dramatically reduced. Other objects which are often found in the waste system include paper, cups, toys and so on are segregated automatically.
