How to Connect Clipped Ducting

In this guide you will learn what is Clipped Ducting and how to assemble it. Keep reading or watch the video.

What is Clipped Ducting?

Clipped ducting is ducting that has a rolled or turned out edge at each end in order that one piece can be securely clamped to the next with the use of quick-release ducting clamps. It differs from the more standard spiral ducting in that it can be easily clipped together.

Designed to provide a smoother internal bore & simple assembly, it saves installation time & makes replacing parts simple. Clipped ducting can be easily dismantled for cleaning purposes & replacing worn parts. The use of the quick clamps reduces leakage, offering improved airflow.

Clipped ducting is sometimes known by different names including quick fit, fast clamp, or rolled edge ducting. Our own brand of clipped ducting is Express Duct.

How do you Assemble Clipped Ducting?

Clipped ducting is easy to fit together. Two pieces of ducting are usually joined together with a clamp which has a seal on it in order to reduce leakage.

Ducting pieces should be seated within the seal of the ducting clamp. The clamp is then tightened around the pieces of ducting in order to create a seal.

Once clipped ducting is installed, releasing it is simple. The clamp is released, allowing for the pieces to be taken apart.

In order to provide a demonstration of this, we have prepared a video of this which should make the process easier & give a good representation of how items fit together. This video forms part of a series on clipped ducting so that installers can quickly assemble different pieces within the Express Duct range.

The great thing about Express Duct clipped ducting is that it’s easy to install, it has a smooth internal finish, it can be easily adapted to existing systems, it doesn’t need rivets, screws or welding & it can be quickly dismantled or accessed for cleaning.
