Common Query Answered: Connections

If you are looking to install some ductwork, but are not sure where to start on the basic connections then look no further.

In this post we provide some basic explanations to connecting fittings, spiral and express duct clipped ducting.

Standard spiral ducting is connected by slotting male end fittings into female end spiral or pipe and fixing with screws. Sometimes you might need to connect a fitting to another fitting or a length of spiral to another length of spiral.

  • To connect a fitting to another fitting you would require a female connector. An example of a fitting would be a 90-degree bend or a concentric reducer etc.
  • To connect spiral to spiral you would require a male connector.
  • Flexible ducting is female end like spiral, so fittings will slot into it, or you can use a male connector to connect to spiral or more flex. With flexible ducting you would additionally use a jubilee clip to secure the ductwork.

Alternatively, if you choose to use express duct clipped ducting then you would simply use our express duct quick clips to clip the ductwork together.
