In this article, we’ll look into the advantages of using spiral ducting our newly stocked products and the development of our new spiral shed.

Spiral Ducting

Our Spiral ducting is round, spirally wound and made out of galvanised steel sheet. The main use for this spiral ducting is within HVAC systems – heating, ventilation, air conditioning, but is not limited to those. Thanks to the pipes rigidity and airtightness it is used for extraction systems to transport large volumes of air from one point to another. Spiral pipes tend to have a smaller surface area compared to rectangular ducts, therefore less energy is lost due to less friction being created when air travels through the system. It is a common choice of ducting product for ventilation systems.
Some advantages of using spiral ducting include better air movement with smooth airflow, due to the pipework being rounded and fewer joints and connectors being used. Due to the pipe being fully sealed there is reduced air leakage and therefore increased energy efficiency. Another advantage is spiral is less expensive than the alternatives, this is because of more efficient manufacturing times and the energy efficiency leads to cost savings over time. Spiral ducting is easier to maintain, it is easier to clean, because of its rounded shape, dust and other contaminants are less likely to collect without any corners. There is also the advantage of less noise pollution compared to other ductwork options, this is because of its smooth material and rigidness of the pipe. Therefore, we recommend using spiral ductwork for your next ventilation project.
